Threadless.com - Designer Clothing
this site gets all sorts of hot and bothered. the concept: people submit designs for t-shirts, those designs get voted on, the highest scoring designs get chosen to be printed in a limited run.
this place is 100% quality. i love the limited edition idea. its not a Urban Outfitters kind of thing where millions of kids have the same lame t-shirt. once these are sold out they are sold out.
but also i really want some of the sold out shirts and get sad when i cant have one. and then i cry. and then mom takes out for ice cream and buys me a pet turtle. then all is good untill i hit the site again.
i will love you more if you were to buy me a shirt from there. XL and get me an ice cream while you're at it
seriously, how sick is this band? so fucking sick. i cant even describe this but its the one of the only albums i have listened to every day since i got it. i am crap at music reviews but its like this: kinda like 8-bit nintendo beeps and pops but not as a novelty. it goes beyond the 8-bit but thats still the core beat for most of the songs. but just to escribe that its semi electronic and its really mellow with matching mellow vocal stylings. as chill as this album is it really gets me bobbing my head and wants to break out in a rad dance. my favorite songs fron the album Such Great Heights are "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight" and "Clark Gable". i am rocking out right now to the latter. not that i rate things but this is high in my book.
amusing site. similar to cafepress where you have a design and "store" and sell your shirts but the hook here is that you design the shirts on thier site with a MacPaint kind of showckwave plugin thing. Its like designing graphics for Nintendo Entertainment System 8-bit style and then making t-shirts .
i am really pumped up about saturday nights show downstairs at the middle east. Ted Leo. yes soooo psyched. some people i try to get listen to ted just dont get into it but i was the same way. i heard ted and wasnt into it but i was helping a friend out put some vinyl tracks of a chisel[ted leo's old band] 7" on to mini disc and i accidentally put it in one day commuting to school and that was it, i was hooked. i hope his vioce is better because he had to cancel a month of shows or something cuz it was messed up. but if you are in the boston area GO TO THE SHOW you will have your ass handed to you in an amazing rock and roll style. i suggest tedleo.com and check his lookout records page to get some sampling of his new singles. look for me at the show. tall kid in the back
it is great to go home for a bit, especially when home is cape cod. but when i came home a week ago i just wanted to chill and see some friends and family. it ended up turning into an event. i came down and was put to work helping out with a family friends wedding which was cool cuz the wedding functions were super fun. my family parties hard core and weddings are crazy parties anyway. so i think 4 of my days here were taken up by wedding type events. this is a lame post i know but bear with...
so yes after all the wedding debris had cleared it was a rainy dismal memorial day weekend. so i had to have a bbq. in the rain and wind it took a while to get things going. the closed liquer stores were little help but due to someones foresight to stock up on wine we had a good time.
what is great about being down here is the relaxed atmosphere. its just chill whatever you do. and i got to see my little bro up from brooklyn with a close to final cut of the movie we worked on in march. and my mom is a great cook so eating real food is fun.
but as the title says, "life on pause". i cant get anything done down here. every time i come down i have shit ready for me to work on because i know ill have time. but its just hard to get real work down. i always end up feeling i have one hand. but i get stuck down here. just laziness i bet but it always happens. 3days turns into a week and a week turns into 2. i was supposed to head back today but i realize i have no money till the first and im not really amped up to play survivor in the city when there is food down here. but my meaningless logic has me believing that going back to cambridge tomorrow will be tons better. dumb of me becuase 11pm and im not doing anything here. could be back up in my *own bed* [major plus]
besides not getting real work done this blog is totally shitting up the place. 56k down here has me online for 10 min at a time so the phone dosent get tied up. that should be resolved soon. so back in the city soon with more tasty links and lame posts.
cheers
lifted right off of Heath Row's Media Diet comes Kalsey Consulting Group's Button Maker.
its not as rad as making the buttons yourself but if you just want to do a quickie with just text, that is the site to hit. cheers
well i have fixed my sleeping schedual but have over compensated and can not sleep beyond 7am. i guess that is better than before. i am on cape cod getting ready for a family friend wedding. and doing laundry. the mornings here are amazing. i think i will go down to the beach at some point this week to be tere at dawn. i am going to many weddings. this will be the 5th one ive been to in a year. best weddings were in london and mexico. i should become a wedding reviewer. like a restraunt reviewer.
eh not much to post about but it is early and i am restless. i have been working since i got in. my mom hoad me put together these horribly designed chairs for the front yard. she only paid like $10 each for them and it shows. i had to re drill the holes for all of them before i could screw them in because the wood was splitting. and the screws were stripping before they even got in.
and i am helping out the best man who is one of my best friends, do some cds to hand out at the wedding. picking a playlist, tracking down the songs, ordering them, burning 100 of them, designing the cd label and the CD insert, printing instert and lablels out. cutting them to size, attaching labels, putting insert into case, putting fniished cd into case. 2 of us on one burner and one printer. now marks day 2.
but again sorry this post sucks if you are reading it. nothing to really say but i felt the need to post. because chances are that there wont be much in the way of new posts this week. it is good to be back home though. the air just smells better. now i have to go to the local bar and see everyone i went to highschool with to make it complete.
cheers,
nb
i saw a certain movie this morning that has much hype.
i loved the first one very much. saw it 3 times opening day/weekend. and likewise im gonna need a few more viewings to wrap my head around this one. it is a lot to take in, visually and contextually. i wont make a review yet or give any spoilers, YET. but id just like to give my initial impressions: [note: no spoilers but if you havent seen it i suggest you dont keep reading. you should not care what other people think before you see it. what they say will totally fuck up your perspective on it]
i hate hype. hype kills shit. this had too much hype. i am know for seeing shit opening day but i pretested the hype and saw it this moring. which is still opening weekend. but i have been seeing people either love it or are really disappointed with it. me? i liked it. i wanna write shit about it but its too soon. its now almost 12 hours after seeing it and im still thinking about it. i need to see it more.
just some notes though. some of the action scenes that were touted as the key scenes were eh. some of the lesser touted action scenes were better. maybe i just feel that way because they werent spoiled. but i do have to say that the motercycle scene is the best of its kind. never has there been a better motercycle chase scene. and mission impossible 2 was great. i also was a bit miffed about all these new characters. yeah new characters are cool but when you see them on every magazine cover and article and ad youd expect to see them more than three minutes of them. im pretty sure i got an erection in one scene. the scene was hot and i am a geek that has a crush on trinity. hmm what else..... i think this one is more of a mind fuck. i didnt want to break my breain trying to take it all in the first time i sw it. so when it got heavey i kinda wasnt paying too much attention. man i really do have to see it again. i had issues. and there are all these theroies and shit were were coming up with afterwards that we were too geeked out and had to stop. but yeah sorry this article sucks but i dont want to say anything to screw up you guys that havnt seen it and i still dont know about it as a whole yet. i enjoyed it a lot but its still in my mind as individual scenes. which is maybe a bad things. some of these scenes and pacing were kind of abrupt, and others i felt were pointless or too long.
what i really am excited though is getting the animatrix DVD coming out soon. there were things referenced in the movie that had to do with some of the animatrix storylines. and the videogame. hell yeah. from what i hear i already love it. screw gameplay, im playing thsi one for the story. niobe and her crews storyline is liek 10% in the movie and 90% in the game. if you havent heard the game is not a videogame version of the movie. it is its own story line that parrallels the time line of the movies. like what was this character doing when we were watching these other characters in the movie. sounds great.
well more later i guess
i love fonts and typefaces. i am a freak that collects fonts at an unheathly pace. if there is such a thing as a fontophile i am probably one of those. but i was in a jam and had a typeface look in my head but none of the hundres of fonts i keep orgainized in Font Reserve were able to fit the part. i asked around and someone gave me a link to DaFont.com and now i am in heaven. the site is all in french but its pretty easy getting around. these guys have amazing shit and its all free. lots of the fonts are for OSX/Windows/Linux but there are a few for those mac classic users [even though you could convert the PC ones] nut yeah short post, great site, free fonts. i know there are hundreds of free font sites but this one is just good quality and easy to navigate[even in a language i dont speak]
all i can say about the work on kozyndan is wow. not like "uhhhh....wow" but like speachless "W-O-W" but silent because im speachless.
i am not an illustrator and i suck at drawing so illustration tend to floor me easily but this has got to be some of the best work ive seen in a long time. a lot of times i can look at a piece and in one second i can either be into it or not. and it really only takes me another second or two more to be really into something. but for each one of the pieces i have looked at on this site has my attention for a few minutes. just looking at all the detail and style and articulation. im seriously floored. there is a lot of work on here too, not a few images and thats it. they have so much work its broken down into "Artwork" ,which is finsihed pieces and stuff that have done profesionally for publications and what have you, and "Sketchs", which is stuff pulled out from sketch books and pretty much just doodles. im not sure which section i find more intriguing. on the one hand the finished work is just that. polished [or not so polished] and intended to be seen. while skecthes are closer to throwaey personal journal drawings. its really cool to find a sketch and the see the date and then find a finished piece that looks like it was inspiered from that sketch.
kozyndan looks like its comprised of 2 artists: dan and kozy. it doesnt say who does what but it may be better just to have thier work do all the talking. they also have a little news section where they have updates about new work to look out for [like the Postal Service single for "Such Great Heights"] and its done in english by dan and in japanse[?] by kozy. i dont know if it is japanses because i can not tell you which asian alphabets are which.
plus again you can OWN some of this stuff. and its hilarious that they have it broken down into "low-priced stuff" and ""high-priced stuff". my personal fave is the "animal orgy" print. so cute and yet so dirty at the same time. buy this for me.
well thats it for this post. and again if you didnt get a sense of my enjoyment of this site just know that i couldnt recomend this site any more. its that good. look at everything.
if you have a blog and use a apple computer with Mac OSX on it [if you are cool] you NEED this little app. it makes blogging painless. and the extra shit that normally logging and posting doesnt have is sooo rad. i wont bore you with my review but its the jazz. kung log was written by Adriaan Tijsseling, who has excellent taste in music.[check his sonic youth section] and you can check his blog http://www.kung-foo.tv/ to download kung-log or his other neat applications. and remember it is still a blog so read some shit and post. if you like kung-log click the paypal donate button on his site and send him over some financial gratitude. much thanks to padme for posting this URL in chat over at the fairview server. im not sure what the context was but it was pretty much like, "hey i never heard of this band but i like this song [posts link] , anyone ever heard of em?"
so it seemed to be random on her part too but yeah this band CapitolK has a song for download on thier website called Prayer for Peace. i dunno what it is but its just a damn cool song. i havnt really paid attention to the lyrics at all but the few minutes of instrumental before the singing kicks in just rad. so i ask you this, its random yes, and my reference isnt worth shit either, but what can hurt downloading 1 song from thier website? its not a pain in the ass, just check the shit out. and if you like it buy the album .....for me. or buy it for yourself and burn me a copy. to make it even more painless here is the direct download link to the:
high qulaity mp3 8.6Mb version
low quality mp3 4.3Mb version
and for the losers,
windows media 2.2Mb version
listened to the song Prayer for Peace by Capitol K while writing this post [on repeat 100x]
i usually think most screen savers that come out for OSX are pretty lame. i dont use any i just turn off my monitor. then while checking out this site fRuitz oF dojo looking for a Quake 1 launcher for OSX i found 2 really cool screen savers. my fave is called rastafied v1.0 and another cool one is plasma tunnel v1.2.3. rastafied is the snaps though an reminds me of the video game Jet Grind Radio or any of those other games that use the cell shading look [like the new zelda] the only non default screen saver i ever had more than a week was the matrix one. man i loved that shit. and no, i have not seen the new one yet so shut the fuck up.
my sleep schedual is totally fucked up. last week i was up really late . probably working on this blog. drinking coke and smoking cigs all night. i woke up really early after about 3 or 4 hours of sleep and went off to do stuff. later in the afternoon i fell asleep on the couch. it was real good deep sleep but now it has totally messed me up. its 8am and i am wide awake.
i have been trying to go to sleep but i just lay in bed. then i set my alarm for a 4 hour sleep session but i can remember waking up anywhere from noon to 2pm and and being awake in my bed getting ready to get up and then next thing i know its 5 pm. thats fucked. on the bright side i do my best work at 5am. seriously i dunno its the most creative i get. and this logo i am currently working on is making me go blind. as the due date appraches i find myself getting....crazy. but then again i get like with all big projects. this one is just more stressful because its not exactly my style. im working a logo from an idea the client had. so im doing something i think someone else wants and i cant stop fixing tiny things. i guess its a good thing i dont have a 9-5 job because i would be fucked with this sleep schedual. but then again i would prob force myself to get up at a decent time. see im sure my alarm goes off but because i dont really have a set time to do something im sure i hit the thing and go back to bed. im usually pretty good about reseting my internal clock. like 6hrs sleep, 6hrs awake untill i go back to normal.
i just cant fix this shit now. i dont know any tips would be greatly appreaciated.
so yeah there is no smoking alowed anywhere in boston anymore...

as you can see im having fun with safey sign creator

my frind matt recently posted a pertty funny article where he relates bloggers to people that are into customizing cars.
its funny to me because im not one of those personalities but yes its true im addicted to fine tuning this bitch and making her something special. i am learning some shit which is good because as much as i am into graphic design, i suck at web design. these days most people assume the two go hand in hand , but it seems im one handed.....or something. but if my blog is a car its probably what ever matt is driving, or better yet a weaker rippoff model because i scan his source code constantly and implement his neat shit here. ok the color i picked out before i saw his so everything else is a rip off. but what car would that be? THEM thinks i may have something in a rally class. either way i dont know how to drive.
so it has come to my attention that there will be a gallery show featuring nothing but t-shirts and the designs on them coming up in june with the show title being "textstyles". the date listed by the official website, NFS Industries, is set to june 7th. the show will be held at the Washington Street Art Center in Somerville, MA.
im not positive but from what i hear the guys that formed the show and doing it under the name NFS industries are MCA from Evil Design and glenn from BrandWashed. both of those design companies have great shirts. hehe you probably could have guessd that by seeing thier buttons under the arts and design link section. i will do another post about each of thier sites individually later. but right now this is just about the show. i am hoping the show will go off as planned. i did submit some shirts to the show myself but dont think i got in. awww poor me. im just really excited to see the show. after i saw the caliber of shit thats gonna be in it i was extremely intimidated anyway. i do limited run shirts by hand and give em to friends or whoever likes em. the list of people that are going to be showing work is insane. youll find a long list with accompanying websites of who will have thier work up. this list will most likely turn into matierial for me to post about :P
but yes if you are in the area come June hit that show up. the show will probably be up for a month but again the opening reception is on june 7th from 8-10pm. and you know ill be posting after the show happens with a complete and accurate review. ha! this is crap log!
so here i am looking at all the merch booty i got from the faint show and i am quite happy with the four color scrren print i got. i got 8th out of 100 made. so i also notice a web site address in the very corner for Ghost-Town.net.
i checked the site and these guys have really good work. ghost-town looks to be comprised of pete cardoso and christian leaflet. the site looks like only cardoso's work is up for viewing which is still about 3 gallery sections of work. the logo for ghost-town shows that these guys are out of providence, rhode island and looking through the designs section a lot of thier work looks like it has been for WBRU which is the brown university radio station.
my favorite gallery is the poster gallery which is filled with posters they have done for local shows. i was bummed they didnt have the faint poster up that i could download and post here but i found what i think may be my favorite on there , for the dropkick murphey's. looks like many of the prints are available for purchase, if they aren't sold out. what i like about cardoso's prints are the different styles he has, not one of the posters looks like any of the others. bigger names out there like Kozick, Coop, and Fairey have so much work in thier library but can be spotted as thier own work. im not sure which is better, doing work that people recognize as your own, or changing up the formula too keep things interesting. either way i still like what they have on here. and i have to make a note of saying "what they have on here" because it looks like the site hasnt been updated in a while. they still have an upcoming shows section with all 2002 dates. so send these guys email saying you want to see more stuff. and if you like orginal artwork from lesser known designers, shell out the $10 or so and get a print.
-=end crap review=-
hello there. you may have noticed that i have been adding waaay to many buttons inthe links area. i cant stop making them. its new new addiciton. what will eventually happpen is ill take a bunch out and put em on another page of buttons and links but leave some selected few. at the rate im going all this shit will be all buttons and be retarded. but anyway you can see i have some categories over there instead of just a mass of buttons. what will be happening is the list will move to another page [i know im repeating myself] and the front page list will be link and buttons of sites posted about. mainy art and design sites since thats the focus i am going to take. so yes buttons are cool but i cant have everything be buttons. also if you like the buttons click on the one that says "Steal Em" or go here. and by all means make your own and send em to that site.
Ah tonight i had the pleasure of seeing one of my favorite bands, The Faint. I guess they would fall into the electroclash/no wave genre but they are from omaha, not brooklyn. I also had been familiar with the faint before this whole electroclash thing got big, so in my book they were one of the pioneers of modern electroclash.
this is the 5th or 6th time i have seen them in boston. i think ive seen every show they have played here. which gives me +2 coolness experiance points. i do have to give a qucik run down of the shows though.
First show upstairs Middle east. this is a small club. small. i love it. the filled the room with smoke. and then turned on pink lights from behind them so it was all silouette like and rays of pink light. then when they started playing they had strobe lights facing them so when they flashed you got little bursts of what they looked like. sooo cool. i was close to wetting myself. that show was in support of thier new album at the time Blank-wave Arcade. it was one of the best shows ive ever been to...in my lifetime.
the rest of the shows weren't too memorable. there was the one when they released thier album Danse Macbre. that was a cool show.
there was also a show they did when they were on tour with No Doubt. For every big No Doubt Show they did they would do a local show with them headling a small club. this time it was downstairs at the middle east. i remember it being extremely hot and packed with high school kids. from what i hear, new fans that heard them at the No Doubt show. it had to chill in the back because there were too many little kids crouding my scene and it was fucking hot. actually i am 6'5" i like the back :P. but yeah i think it was like winter/spring and it was one of those crazy warm days so the heat got tunded off that day but the A/C was not turned on. so they played 45min and were just looking exauhsted. it was my least favorite Faint show.
so ill skip ahead to now.
venue: The Roxy
most recent album: Danse Macabre: Remixes - its danse macabre remixed by Astral Werks recording artists.
so the roxy is a considderably larger venue than downstairs. the opening bands were Schneider TM, who were like this acid jezzy kinda shit that bored me so i dont really have a review. and then after them were Les Savy Fav.
i wasnt too familiar with Les Savy Fav but i remembered i had a few albums on mp3. popped the shit in last night and was cool with it. they were a band that i could listen too. So at the show i was interested in seeing what they were like. visually i was very surprised. i thought the album sounded like Radio 4. but they sure as hell didnt look like them. the lead singer was bald on top with a comb over and a big rusty orange beard. he was also wearing what i can only describe as a hippie shirt. the mic or the sound level from the mic was all messed up for the first 3-4 songs. so you couldnt hear anything he was saying. but the band was really amazing. the lead singer was one of those 'crazy guys' that liked to run all over the stage and climb on shit and take his shirt off and pantomime shit. if i were into them i would have loved this shit. but all in all my thoughts after thier set was that i should listen to more of thier stuff.
after that i booked all the way down 2 floors and getting my hand stamped a few more times to get out side to smoke a cigarette. i never thought the smoking ban would be a big deal but leaving this place for 5 min was an ordeal.
so now im waiting for the faint to come on and i am noticed the crowd has about doubled. and again 15year old kids every where. i thought i was the oldest person there. these shows are usually scenster events but these kids were too young to even be in a scene. i didnt care though. this place was big enough for tons of kids with their my-parents-dont-understand-me hair and wardrobe and huge over night in the city back packs that they couldn't get in my way. i wont be too harsh because i was once one of those kids.
i found a nice spot near the front. again i am 6'5" so most spots are good, but the 2 longhairs i was with couldn't see from my original spot so we moved close to the bar. best of both worlds.
so the biggest change was the addition of 2 fucking huge video screens that played some interesting video that sync'd to every song. these videos were song specific, not just back drops of random weird shit. the show went on and was good. maybe im just older or something but it seemed to lack the intensity that every other show had. it could have been the venue or it could be all the popularity the band has now [popularity=money]. they played all thier songs, a few remix versions of some songs from Blank-wave Arcade that you can download from their site and 2 new songs. i wasn't really feeling the new songs. the one i liked the least , Take Me to the Hospital, will be on a Saddle-Creek compilation album called Saddle Creek 50. The other new song, Paranoia, has potential but i wasn't too psyched. its was a great show but it just didn't get my bood pumping as i am accustomed to at thier shows. one thing i did notice that was a bummer was that they seemed to be playing their instarments less and relying on the backing recording more. at previous shows the drummer with the digital drum kit could have fooled people into thinking it was a recording but he along with the keyboardinst and the singer using his own keyboard from time to time made sense that they were really playing. not to mention the shit equipment at those show that would have made any recording obvious. this show however i saw the bass player and guitar player jumping around looking like they were going off on sick riffs and shit but you could see thier hands holding the shit no where near strings. also one song where i loved to see the guitar part being played i saw that the guitar player had his hands in the air clapping along while i could hear the guitars wailing out. i should never be a music reviewer because i use such lame lines as riff and wail. but fuck im not a muscian and i dont know shit. just to further prove my point about the recording is the video screens. they were totally in sync with the music, perfectly in sync. it IS possible to play live and be in sync yes i know, but this was just too much sync-ta-tude. its hard to describe what was on the screen but the videos and music were starting at the same time and all that jazz. they were just jumping around during all the heavy parts looking like they were rocking out.
as i left i felt the need to add to my faint collection of crap. ive gotten a 12"x12" poster every time the come but the one they had this time was just like the last tours but different back ground. so i picked up a really cool 4 color screen print poster that i think some fan or something made. they only had a few hundred and there look very hand done. and its for this particular show, boston roxy, may 11th. in my book thats way better than some crap the record company puts out. REAL orginal art. its kinda big but id like to scan it in. i also had to pic up thier remix cd : Danse Macabre: Remixes, which i am listening to now. its cool, more music from them is what i have been wanting. and to top it off i got yet another faint tshirt. i got a large cuz the merch girl said they were the same company that made last tours shirts and i have a large from last year that i love. my problem with shirts is that larges are not long enough and Xtra large are too big in the body area. this new one has bugs all over it. bugs, i think cockroaches. its the theme for the remix art. so i am happy. the show didnt blow the ass out of me but it was a live music fix. and i couldnt live with myself if i missed a faint show.
so yeah. next show im looking forward to: Ted Leo
i listened to Let the Poison Spill From Your Throat from the album "Danse Macabre Remixes" by The Faint while writing this post
god i love where i live. i guess im lucky because i know a lot of people hate thier area. this is longest ive ever lived in one apartment, three years. i live in cambridge, not boston. i love that distinction. although yeah i pretty much live in boston, when someone asks where i live, its cambridge, not boston. and central square cambridge. the best bart. right inbetween the pillars of this town, MIT and Harvard.
i live 3 blocks from one of if not the best club to see live music. 3 blocks to the subway. 3 blocks to my favorite bar. 4 blocks to the supermarket. it all falls into place.
and getting anywhere worth going in this town is pretty easy from here. the subway takes me right to downtown or north to harvard square. and the bus takes me down mass ave to fenway area.
i used to live in roxbury and while it was funny, seeing your neighborhood on the news every other night as the scene of some shooting wasnt the best. i mean yeah we have shootings and stuff here too but this neighborhood has a good vibe. im glad i dont live in allston. boston must have 60+ colleges here. so you know all those frat douche bags need to have an area to live. i call that area allston. although allston does have some good shit, i wouldnt want to have to ride a packed B train 45 min every day just to go a few blocks to my place.
like i said i have lived here for 3 years. i moved in with some friends from back home. everything has been chill but things change. casey is eventually moving to NYC with his music production company but hell prob move to jamacia plain in the interim. Brian just got engaged. so id expect him to move out and go with his girl. im not too worried about finding roomates that i know. last effort would anon roomate screening. but that is if im allowed to stay. my land lord is good shit. he lives in the apt below us and weve never had problems. i know i have bouced maybe 2 checks since ive been here but ive made up for it. but the tarnish on my record is vouching for some friends that moved in next door. they have bounced a bunch of checks and one of them has dissappeared. she dropped off a check, and went to buffalo to see some friends. now its a month and ten days later and the check she dropped off has bounced and she has missed may 1st rent. so they are getting evicted and my landlord is pissed and i hope that doesnt trickle down to me.
wow i think i just wrote journal type shit. dammit anyway back to where i live:
being near harvard and mit is cool because you meet people that are involved in some crazy shit. the MIT media lab people are the most entertaining, like justin manor. the Miracle of Science Bar and Grill has the best food too. not just in my area but thats where the best hamburgers in the city are. fuck bartley's. that place is packed all the time because people hear its the best and go there. but MOSBAG is the best.
another thing about cambridge is that you will see the craziest looking homless dude yelling shit to air above him. all dirty and shuffling papers and really just....insane looking. and then later its possible to find out that that very same crazy bum is a MIT/Harvard professor. or maybe a student that has cracked. its funny but i am serious its true. you see a lot of wackos and then someone say, " oh yeah i heard of that guy. he was the smartest guy here untill he cracked". how fucking rad is that?
its also funny since starting this blog and looking up local blogs with the GEOurl thing, i see pantloads of blogs in my neighborhood. i think cambridge must have the higest blog per square block out of anywhere.
all in all if i do get kicked out im gonna look around in this neighborhood. although prices of places are going WAAAY up , my luck ill end up in EAST cambridge :P
its just really cool find find a place that feels like home.
ok i am super new to this blog deal. as i find out more about the universe that is blogging i find myself getting my mind blown. not really but i am easily impressed. its way bigger than i had thought. but as i keep going i keep thinking, "really, who reads this?"
first for those of you that i know that dont know bloging. blog is short for Web Log which is what this site is and millions of other sites. now that i have a blog i can spot blogs easier. and i am thinking 50% of all sites are blogs.
so back to what i was saying, really who will read this? i have no idea. i see these blog rings that contain hundreds of blogs. and im sure if you are on that ring and have a blog then you must read other blogs too. but im sure some of those blogs dont get read. which is think is the case for many blogs. so now im just doing this because im learning a hella lot of shit about css/html etc. and it keeps me busy entertaining the thought that this blog could actually have some positve effect somewhere. not like spiritual orphilantropic but more shallow like maybe if i do something right here i can get a job [which equals money]. so who reads this? i dunno but i think ill have to make it my goal to actually do something that warrents peoples reading time. i need a theme.
craplog. right now im going with the theme of crap. sometimes i feel the need to post something but only half heartedly. so what ever i post is crappy. ill maybe want to review something but if i finish and i think the review sucks, im posting it. this will all be crappy. but not some novel idea where its crappy on purpose but it will be what it is. and im betting on crap.
so if you end up here some how its either because you know me or saw a link to here somewhere. because even before i grasped this whol blog thing i have been spreading my blog address all over different communities like a sailor with VD on shore leave. so bare with me as i figure out direction and focus. i am also thinking about opening up author permisions to other people. because this is alot of crap to handle on my own.
i know it can be done. i have found some cool blogs this week and i will be putting links to them as i collect them. shit actually worth reading. right now though im still figuring out what i want here. and im being retarded with all the cool plugins. including hot blog thingy at the moment, blogshares. fantasy stock market sounds so boring to me but im new and will follow my peers. things i would like to add would be a gallery of some of the graphic design work i have done and some projects i am working on. my new thing is t shirt design. screen printing rules.
ok i have already forgotten my direction with this single post. hehe very appropriate . this being crap log with crap posts and all. also spelling is not my strong point so dont sweat me. so in summation:
blogging as a whole: interesting, enourmous, customizable, do-able
my current blog: weak, growing, figuring shit out, will be cool
i will not bore you with live journal shit. you will from time to time see posts that are journal-like but i know ill be bored. and you will see links and posts deliberatly lifted from other sites/blogs. but i will give credit to the original if i can remember.
and again if this blog never gets cool ill end up shutting it down because if its not worth doing right......if orget the last part of that saying but i think it applies here.
and for gods sake comment on shit. this is crap log. comments are always crappier than the posts anyway. and you are discouraged from putting time and effort into a comment.
farts!

yeah! head over to THE ANIMATRIX and download the newest release "The Second Renaissance Part 2". if you havn'y been there already get the other 3 as well.
i havn't seen the new one yet cuz from some reason its not working and says i need QuickTime 6 which i have. but if you are not familiar with the animatrix you should check it out. The matrix reloaded will be out soon so creators of the matrix got some of the more famous writers/artists to put together 9 animated shorts that have thier stories in the world of the matrix. they are releaseing one a month and a DVD of all 9 will be released June 3rd.
so far there are now 4 out available for download. "The Second Renaissance Part 1" is my favorite so far because it does back story about how the machines came around and it leads up to how the machines take over. so im psyched to see part 2 which i am guessing is how the machines take of and create the matrix.
the "program" vid is also cool. it has to do with a crew similar to the one from the movie but different characters and it takes place in a training program set in a feudal japan [kinda like "tank, load the jump program."]
and then there is one called "detective story" which is black and white and it takes place within the matrix program. its pretty cool.
so yeah im psyched to see the new matrix, word im a geek. i saw the first one opening night with 2 friends. the next night we each brought 2 more people bringing our group to 9. then the third night we had about 30 people there.
im gonna try to go to reloaded at midnight the night before it opens. so i can ruin it for everyone and a lot of people dont think about going to midnight before.
so yes i suggest you go to www.intothematrix.com to see the animatrix shit.
listening to Burly Brawl from the album "Matrix Reloaded" by Juno Reactor vs. Don Davis while writing this post
this was brought to my attention from a friend but he got it from www.macnet2.com
So this guy buys a 17" apple powerbook [drool worthy] and the latch was faulty and the screen shattered. check out his apple page of pictures before and after the accident here
so because this was apple's fuckup because of the latch he should send it back and get it fixed right? hell yeah but check out this video he made after he got it back from apple here
it came back with MORE damage?! this is nuts it would make me cry. i love apple but this is not the first time i have heard of the repair guys not fixing shit. keep checking in to http://macnet2.com/
im sure there is a longer and better story there but this is just the main crap of the story, you want details hit thier site.
this is the new drops in my eye. as much as i love this freakish look, the dialated pupil makes everything blurry. giving me a headache. they yellow shit is from the idodine drops. here is a pic.

shoe size relative to penis size?
http://www.i18nguy.com/l10n/shoes-anatomy.html
i think someone is lying here. who the hell did they poll? porn stars? sure if you ask some dude his shoe size he'll be honest but if your next question is what is your penis length, you should expect to counter the exagerations. i bet they had some 21 year old hot chick ask the questions too.
if only it were true. but then again i wouldn't know what to do with an 11inch wang. wrap it around my leg maybe. i dont think i would want an 11" wang. no, ill stick to my 10 inch wang hehe *wink*
woot comments working! i also want to make a not that this site looks better in internet explorer 5 than it does in Safari.i dont know why. if anyone that reads this knows how to fix it for safari id love to know. also when i rebuild the sitefrom the MT config i lose all the link buttons from the lower right side, it ends up reverting to default "add your links here"
i think if i fill up this column a little more safari will look ok.
im still trying to get everything squared away here. trying to get the colors from the CSS to mirror the basic scheme of the main designs site. which also needs an upgrade to CSS and mb some content. :P the main design site will prettyy much be a space to show work i have done profesionally like logos and the like as well as having my other works which right now is tshirt designs. i have a few new ideas for some shirts that will be pretty rad. well see how that goes. as for now though all my time will be getting this crap put together because i cant do too much outside with the bad eye, sunlight kills and i look crazy walking around one eye shut and leaking. all the while while listening to Postal Service, The Helms and The White Stripes.
so i was trying to make this place look a tad bit better but , alas i am retarded. ill work on it later. so yeah on to something that is semi blog worthy: Today i was a pirate....
so yeah i had a late nigth last night. nothing cool, just couldnt sleep. so i take out my contact lenses and go to bed. my right eye was kinda irratated but sometimes that happens. it was tearing up a bit but i just layed in bed, couldnt sleep. so i guess i dozed off around 6am but all i remember is waking up at 8:30 am from the searing pain in my right eye. i get up still sleeping and zombie like holding my hand over my eye which is gushing tear fluid and snot running out my right nostril and gobs of phlegm in my throat. i cleaned my self up and expeled mucus from my head holes and went to check out the eye. my right eye was fucking bright red and i coulndt open it. but i was so tired i grabbed some tissues and an eye patch off the wooden mexican day of the dead skull and after poppoing some ibuprofin went back to bed. after everyone woke up and i couldnt get back to sleep i was convinced that i could go blind and went to Massachusetts General Hospital Eye and Ear Infirmary. My roomate casey drove me but couldnt find parking so i gave him the go ahead to leave. walking around a huge hospital on no sleep, seeping fluid wearing an eye patch, SWEET. i could barley see cuz it was so breight and both eyes were kinda affected. i follow signs to Eye and Ear to find the whole place empty i seriously felt like i was in Resident Evil. so taking stairs down one floor i find the Eye and Ear ER and there were people there. after waiting about an hour i was let in and got my eye prodded and got some drops that relaxed the eye and muscles. the doctor thinks i have what isnt quite yet an ulcer on my eye. i was so tired i didnt get the details from him. he gave me some perscriptions and i see him again on monday. he said that i couldnt wear my contacts for maybe 5 months. this sucks because my glasses are ghetto freebies from my shit health insurence that i never wear outside. so i came back to my neighborhood and hit the pharmacy. the first one had the antibiotic drops i need to use every hour, and the creme to put in when im sleeping [pull out eye lid to make a 'cup' fill with creme] BUT the pharmacy and the 2 others i went to did not have the twice a day eye drops that relax the muscle in the eye, cut down on fluid secretions and pretty much take away pain. so looks like ill have to tough out the searing eye pain untill monday. sweet. well off to apply my cream, er ointment. uh dirty

ok so this is working untill i fuck it up again. much thanks to T.H.E.M. for baby stepping me through this. also to goat who was a big help. and iM for changing my mind. this blog will suck! its not called crap log for nothing. and yes it looks ugly but thatll be the next step.
