its been a while friends...

yes yes it has.

i know i have appologive before for slacking and made promises to change but this is different because i make no promises. what really killed the momentum on craplog for me was the DB getting corrupted. then i got it fixed and had to rebuild the site from scratch because the back ups i made ended up being the wrong kind [raw html and not MT code]. ive thought about posting again but really i dont see much that inspires me to post. really i made this site to share amazing art and visual things thats started a fire in me and made me want to do better work. as i troll through this world wide web i find less and less amazing things. im not saying they arent out there its just that i cant find em as easily as i had. also my inspiration in general is pretty low. the only works i have done really since the last post were comission based and i feel [in my own personal work] anything that i make thats motivated by money and not just for arts sake isnt really art or design. i want to change what people think graphic design is. the most amazing graphic design out in the world isnt trying to sell you anything.

in the future:
-i hope to fix up crap lof and realign myself with movable type.
-get some more people posting articles on here
-redesign the main ERS Designs website

in the meantime:
RockRage: Music Band Fonts

and this is just an image that i loved that i found trolling. its from a website called RONEN, there isnt anything there but this image so i dont have anything to tell yall but it sparked me. [click extended entry to view]

The Sect of Homokaasu - The Rasterbator

easy concept:
"The Rasterbator is a web service which creates huge rasterized pictures out of relatively small image files. The pictures can be assembled into extremely cool looking posters up to 5 meters in size! You can either upload a file from your computer or use any file that is publicly available in the internet. After you have cropped and selected a desired size for the image, the rasterbated image will be sent to you as an easily printable pdf file."

this is actually really cool. its an easy thing to do on your own but this makes it easier. what? you have shitty posters or blank walls? this is where to start. no its not like making a poster out of a small web pic, enlarging a rasterized picture does decrease the quality. youll end up with pixelation. but the way this works is more like creating an installation art piece. the grid pattern effect from the 8.5x11 print outs from your home printer and pixleation make this look cooler than what the enlarged clean edged poster would look like. depending on what image you use of course. but yes this is cool and i recomend you do some redecorating.

more nick z news: website up

Nick Zaremba :: Portfolio
so yeah i pump up nick z big time but its cool cuz we are bros and his work really flips me out. so big ups and congrats go out to nick who finnally has some sort of portfolio up where he has new works and the like going on. looks like it will be updated frequently. the best part of this portfolio area has to be the movies. really good idea. instead of thumbnails with larger pics [which is on there too] the movies are like a slideshow with music. reallly really cool. i havnt seen this on art sites before. so check it out and holler at nick for some stickers.

SENT: america's first phonecam art show

this looks interesting. not too much on the site yet as far as content goes but it looks neat. artists include Glen E. Friedman of dogtown and z-boys fame, and warren ellis comic book artist. phone cams getting so popular a gallery show is a logical step.

make fonts of your handwriting

so yeah this has been done a million times and shit and there are apps out there to do this but this one was post worth because its based online. download and print out the template, write in your characters, scan it in and upload it and poof you get your font. it appears to be free, i havnt tried it yet because my printer is on the fucked up side of working.

but if you feel it check it and post about how it is

Directors Label

i got these for christmas and they are great. great concept. at only $13 each they are must have DVDs. im looking forward to seeing who else will get the Directors Label treatment.

think of it as like Criterion Collection for Music Video directors. highlights for me included Spike Jonze's "drop" by the Pharcyde, and most of the Michel Gondry Bjork vids. i just bought the Chris Cunningham dvd today and have not watched it but his Aphex Twin videos are always highlights. the extra shit on each dvd is great, behind the scenes, commentary and short films. big thanks to my lil bro sammy for hooking me up.
